Ryan Binkley grew up in Plano, Texas, a Dallas suburb. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin with dual majors in finance and marketing. Later, Ryan obtained his master’s in business administration from Southern Methodist University.
He and his wife Ellie have five wonderful children.
In 2001 while living in Atlanta, a tragedy struck his family. His brother, who ran Generational Equity with their father in Dallas, was killed by a drunk driver. After six months of prayer and preparation, Ryan and his wife Ellie felt led to move back to Dallas. As he prayed about this decision, the Lord gave him vision of a businessman in heaven.
Ryan recalls, “I could see what an honor it was to be in business and do it God’s way. It seemed like the greatest honor in the world, then I heard the Lord say abruptly, ‘Honor this calling or I will remove it from you and give it someone else.’ I have tried faithfully to honor that calling and fulfill his plan for our lives.”
Later in a dream, Ryan learned that God had more plans for him. He was called to build a great company and then plant a church.
Today, he is CEO and president of Generational Group, an organization of companies that started as one, originally founded by his father. Generational specializes in mergers and acquisitions, along with wealth advisory, and employs more than 250 people. Before joining Generational, Mr. Binkley’s industry experience spanned from the consumer products segment with Procter and Gamble, healthcare services with Boston Scientific Corporation and technology consulting.
Ryan and Ellie planted their church, Create Church, in Richardson, Texas, in 2014.
Ryan’s purpose involves business and ministry, but really it is all ministry to him. He believes the workplace is just as holy as the place you worship.
