Generational Equity was recently named the title sponsor of the Cupid Dash, a February race event in Plano that benefited MakeAWay Charities.

MakeAWay Charities is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to families, preventing short-term monetary emergencies from becoming catastrophes. By providing assistance at the right time, MakeAWay hopes to stop the domino effect of debt and poverty that can plague families during hard times.

The organization has an annual gala, golf tournament, and race to raise money. Generational Equity sponsored the race for the first time this year and had a number of employees participating in the Feb. 18 event.

The Generational Equity Cupid Dash involved a one-mile fun run, 5k and 10k at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, where love was in the air. Going along with its Valentine’s Day theme, there was even a best love story contest.

All proceeds from the event benefited MakeAWay. For those who enjoy sleeping in, there was also an option to “Sleep In for MakeAWay” as a way to help make a difference without needing to break out the running shoes.
